Support when you need it most

We understand how difficult it can be to lose a loved one. As well as having to cope with the sadness and adjustment that follows, there’s often a lot of practical and legal work to be dealt with for the estate. Even straightforward estates can involve complex paperwork and strict deadlines.  The administration process can feel confusing, stressful and overwhelming – and that’s completely natural, especially when you are grieving, but you don’t have to go through it alone.

Our role is simple – to make this process easier for you. Our friendly and experienced team will provide clear advice, compassionate support and practical help to guide you through every step of the probate and administration process at this difficult time in your life. We’ll take the time to listen, explain things in plain language and handle as much, or as little, as you’d like us to.

Two ways we can help

Grant-Only Service

If you feel comfortable handling most of the estate yourself but want help with the legal step of obtaining the Grant of Probate (or Letters of Administration if there’s no Will), we can take care of that part for you.

We will:

  • Liaise with you to identify and value the assets and liabilities of the estate
  • Determine what reliefs, if any, are available against inheritance tax
  • Arrange payment of inheritance tax from the estate assets, where applicable
  • Prepare and submit the Grant application paperwork
  • Deal with HM Courts & Tribunals Service on your behalf
  • Guide you on the next steps once the Grant is issued

Full Estate Administration

If you’d prefer to hand everything over to us and feel secure that the application for the Grant and administration is being managed professionally, we can look after the entire process for you.

We will complete the stages above and following the issue of the Grant, we will:

  • Collect in/transfer/sell the assets
  • Settle debts, expenses, and any tax due (including income tax and capital gains tax)
  • Report to HMRC if values change
  • Pay legacies
  • Obtain inheritance tax clearance from HMRC
  • Prepare estate accounts
  • Deal with any trusts arising under the Will/Intestacy
  • Identify and distribute the estate to beneficiaries
  • Keep you informed with clear, simple updates along the way

This service takes the burden off your shoulders so you can focus on your own wellbeing and your family, knowing the estate is being looked after with care and respect.

You don’t have to go through this on your own. Whether you just need help with the Grant, or would prefer us to take care of everything, we’re here to guide you with compassion and care.
